What are the top causes of construction site deaths?

Many people in Kentucky work in the construction industry. Construction work often pays well and is a good job for many people. But, construction work can also be dangerous. Those who are injured on a construction site can suffer from very serious injuries, and even death.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has listed the top four causes of construction site deaths. The leading cause of construction worker deaths are falls. Falls can occur in many situations, including falling from scaffolding and roofs. When an employer doesn't provide necessary safety equipment, such as fall protection, safety harnesses and hand rails, a worker can unexpectedly suffer from a fatal fall. The second leading cause of construction worker deaths is electrocution. Following falls and electrocutions, being struck by an object and getting caught in between accidents are the leading causes of construction worker deaths.

When a family is affected by a construction accident, it can be a devastating situation. The injured or killed worker is often a valuable member of the family, both for emotional and financial support. Employers are responsible for making sure the construction site is safe for all workers. When an employer takes shortcuts and risks their employees' lives, serious accidents can occur. A family who has been affected by a workplace accident may want to speak with a legal professional who is skilled in personal injury. An attorney can help the family get the answers they deserve as to what happened to their loved one. They can also hold an employer responsible for their negligence.

A construction worker has a dangerous job. This job is even more dangerous when an employer takes shortcuts and doesn't make their employees' safety their number one priority.
