What are the reasons drivers speed in Kentucky?

Most Kentucky drivers drive safely when out on the road. They know how important it is to always be aware of their surroundings and obey the speed limit. But, occasionally, a serious car accident occurs because a driver is speeding. There are many reasons people give as to why they felt the need to speed.

Speeding is against the law and drivers can face serious penalties if they are caught, not to mention the fact that speeding is a contributing factor in more than 27% of fatal crashes in the U.S. But, even though drivers know they shouldn’t speed, they still do. Traffic congestion is one of the leading reasons why drivers engage in aggressive driving behavior, including speeding. They may change lanes frequently and become angry at other drivers. Drivers may speed because they are running late to something.

Speeding not only endangers the life of the driver, but their passengers and everyone they come in contact with on the road. Those who speed can lose control of their car more easily and cause a serious accident. Those who have been in a car accident caused by a speeding driver may want to speak with an attorney. An attorney will work to find out what caused the accident and get the answers the victim and their family deserve. Compensation may be available for medical expenses, pain and suffering, lost wages, and other damages.

No one expects to be involved in a serious car accident. Unfortunately, no matter how good of a driver you may be, you can still be affected by other drivers on the road.
